Living Soil

Living Soil

All our land tours will feature an informative talk about the desert’s biological soil crust. It’s essentially a whole community of living organisms that make up the fabric of our landscape. It’s our job to protect it so it can continue to serve its purpose and help our treasured ecosystem continue to thrive! More here:

CAMPING ALONG THE RIVER OR ON OTHER PUBLIC LANDS

Are you planning an overnight float along the Moab Daily section of the Colorado River?  Here is a link to a camping map of approved campsites along the river corridor.

When camping on public lands please take great care to preserve these spaces and ecosystems for all to enjoy.  Bureau of Land Management Moab Field Office has published and enforces camping regulations for the area.  Of particular note, be sure to carry out all trash including solid human waste in an approved container. Wild West Voyages has Rest Stop II bags for sale in our storefront.  These can be disposed of in a special receptable at the Southeast Utah Health Department 575 Kane Creek Blvd, Moab, UT 84532, just down the street from our office (PLEASE do not deposit these in our trash cans, this is not approved item for general trash pickup).  If camping along the river, additionally bring a fire pan and pack and carry out your ashes, and do not gather firewood along the river.
